JESSIE
INTERCEPTOR, CROSSER & COMMUNICATOR
In the Spring of 2015, Jessie Alvarado-Armas was part of a second wave of players brought on to bolster an XL Soccerworld "recreational" team, which had just finished second at the WIlliamsburg, VA Indoor Regionals. His coach, a then 20 year old Luis Rios Jr.
Fast forward nine years and Jessie has earned a National Indoor Silver Medal, two Mid-Atlantic Regional Medals (one gold), and multiple Championships at the local level.
In 2020, at the age of 16, he signed for Central Raleigh FC U-23. In his first year at the Amateur level, Jessie was named in the Conference XI for the Eastern Carolina Conference League. He also led the league in assists via set pieces (7).
Heavily influenced by his indoor and futsal roots, he finds himself at ease in congested midfields and quick tempo scenarios. Jessie is best known for his impressive acceleration, instinctual interceptions, and an ability to get into the minds of his opponents. Vocal, you will often hear him coordinating the transitions between the back line and midfield block.
